What really attracts tourists, are two beautiful waterfalls – worth visiting especially in summer time. You can feel a chilly breeze on your face during hot days in Kyrgyzstan, which last for two months. On your way to the waterfalls stop at the market (bazaar) and buy some local specialities, as for example real, natural honey which you will not find anywhere else (prices from 200-400 KGS). Arslanbob is also known for its wild walnut forest called Juglans regia. This walnut forest is the largest on earth with the area around 150 000 acres. It is located between Chatkal and Fergana mountains. It is thought that Alexander the Great took the walnuts from this forest, which later gave the beginning of plantations around Europe.
